Please allow me to give you a little bit of insight into my world:
For over 20 years I have tackled the question that so many professionals in the field of psychology, philosophy and spirituality are attempting to answer: who are we, what makes us tick and how do we move beyond the self-imposed limitations of our worlds and create new experiences?
Each field of inquiry has its own sets of belief systems that govern their findings. In my private practice as a personal coach in Fremantle Western Australia and in my online email personal coaching I try to stay away from theories and encourage people to find the truth within themselves by providing information rather than solutions. Everything we want to know is already within us – we just have forgotten how to become aware of our own truth. Yet, every word we say, every thought we think, every sensation we feel and every move we make has the potential to unfold our inner world and offer us an invitation for insight and change.
And here is my story:
Everything started as a child already – I just didn’t fit in anywhere in the world and always felt like being at home nowhere and anywhere at the same time.
I was born in Prague and my schooling years were spent in Switzerland. My professional journey started with a Business diploma and then a 10 year long involvement in Marketing and the corporate world.
In 1992, I came to Australia and pursued further studies at Edith Cowan University in Management and Marketing. This opened a much deeper inquiry within me and I decided to restart my professional life and move towards Clinical Psychology. I then spent another four years at Murdoch University where I worked towards a Bachelor of Psychology.
When I went into private practice I realized that even though I accumulated an enormous amount of knowledge, my understanding of the bigger picture still seemed very limited. So I started searching again.
I dived into the humanistic branch of psychology and explored existential and personcentred approaches to psychotherapy. Then I researched the bodycentred and experiential psychotherapies, Neurolinguistic Programming, Energy Therapies and learned from Chinese Medicine, Buddhist Psychology, Yoga and Tai Chi Masters. Philosophy and Physics have always been a fascination that accompanied any inquiry I have undertaken.
But what was I actually searching for in that sea of wisdom?
There was only one thing of interest for me: experience.
Experience sums up what life is all about as we go through one set of experiences after another. Experience involves your mind, body and spirit.
To learn more about the nature of our experiences I initiated the monthly seminar PsychInsight: A soulful inquiry into the psychology of being which invited professionals from all walks of life and dived into a body centred and highly experiential psychotherapy called Hakomi. I liked this method of inquiry so much that for over 10 years now I have been organising trainings and workshops in Western Australia to bring Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy closer into our professional community.
Do I know it all by now? Has my hunger for wisdom been satisfied? Absolutely not but I guess that I have accumulated enough insights that I can at least sit comfortably with the not knowing and still feel at peace with my world and life. And please, do not think for one moment that I have arrived at the end. Each new arrival, each new success opens up new challenges and insights and if there would be nothing more to learn and experience, would there be a reason for life?
People who have worked with me and friends who have had heated discussions with me over the years have always urged me to put the material together for others to learn from. And I guess these suggestions have finally led me onto my present journey where you can find me right now.
May you find plenty of inspiration, insights and wisdom through this website; whether you just are just browsing through or whether you chose to engage in a more personal interaction through our offered personal growth programs and personal email mentoring.
The path will reveal itself once you start walking, I have seen it over and over again. I would like to shine the torch for you to make sure that you don’t miss too many things. Because thousands of decisions are made every day by each single one of us – and these decisions impact ultimately on our experience.
There is a lightness that comes with wisdom and experience begins to be seen in a different light. And wisdom is nothing else than knowledge applied. I can give you knowledge and I can hint on it’s application but you are ultimately the one who is walking the path. Make it truly your path. There is no one path to be followed than your very own.
